Updating your DISH or DirecTV box for Wi-Fi control

If you have a DISH Hopper/Joey or a DirecTV Genie/Genie Mini, Ray can control it over Wi-Fi and give you more enhanced DVR and/or On Demand features, and you won't need direct line-of-sight to control your box. Here's how to update to Wi-Fi control:

1. On Ray’s home screen, tap the Settings icon

2. Tap "Devices"

3. Select DISH or DirecTV Receiver

4. Check the connection that Ray has with your DISH or DirecTV receiver.

If it says "Wi-Fi" then you're all set, and no need to continue.

If it says "Infrared (IR)" or "Not Connected," swipe down the page and tap "Change Device."

5. Make sure your DISH or DirecTV receiver is on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as Ray

6. Ray is now searching your Wi-Fi network for your Hopper, Joey, Genie or Genie Mini.

7. Ray has now scanned your network and discovered any DISH or DirecTV receivers you have. Select the receiver you wish to control and follow the on-screen instructions to add it for Wi-Fi control.
